Search engine optimisation hacks: A Guide

Have you ever wondered how search engine optimisation works? Apart from seeing its effects on Google and Bing, getting a feel for how it works can even translate into your own work. Getting content to move and progress in today’s digital landscape is a skill – a skill that can, in fact, be easily taught.

Search engine optimisation tips from content creators

Stages of SEO Development

With search engines, there are three basic steps as to how to they generate content. In the “crawling” phase, automated robots or ‘bots’ links online documents and domains that are relevant to the keyword you are searching for. Say you were to search for “best hotels in my area” – it will generate a listing of hotels near your current location and any relevant information for your perusal.

Once this search term will be used again, it will be “indexed” or stored by the engine’s database for future queries. As more and more of these search terms are being used, the easier “retrieval” of this data becomes – analysing data that is more relevant or higher-ranked to fit the engine’s idea of ‘high-quality’ content.

How We Interact

Before you start with implementing SEO strategy into your content, however, it is also important to know what makes for quality content. Algorithms, although useful, cannot beat user experience in creating great content. As SEO can only bring useful content to your attention rather than creating the content itself, it is up to content creators to do what they do best.

When searching for a particular object or thing, queries usually come in either of these questions:

  • ·         Transactional Queries- An example for this is when the user wants to do something such as purchasing an item online, download or watch video or a research.
  • ·         Informational queries- An example for this is searching information on a topic such as favorite artist or top places to visit in Korea or what’s the best pizza in town.
  • ·         Navigation queries- An example for this is going to a particular website on the internet such as brand website to check if there on sale.

Effective Content Creation

SEO blogs and articles are very important part of internet marketing and social media management. One of the most effective ways to introduce your site is to post an article regularly with fresh contents that can increase web page visibility and traffic for a higher ranking in search engine and more. Writing an article using Search engine optimization requires good writing skill to make an article that is interesting and easy to read.

Make something that is long enough 100 words of fresh content is better than nothing but search engines usually tend to give preference to longer  blogs so try to make at least 300 words per article. Search engine optimization (SEO) also needs more time effort and money to invest but this can also be the key to your success in business.

If you’re going to create an article you might as well take time to make sure Google notice your effort. Find out which keywords and phrases people are usually searching for and make a list. You need to put the keyword in the title of the blog as well as the first and the last sentence. Make something that people care about like some tips or advice about your business or create some news related to your business.
